Pineapplelily Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy was last updated on 12th November 2023.

Changes may be made to this policy in the future. Please revisit this page to keep up to date.

By using this website, you agree that you have read and understood my Privacy Policy set out below. Although the language is simple, the intentions behind this policy are to provide complete transparency to the user on how information is collected and used on this website.

When you fill out my contact form, or any enquiry form, on this website, I collect your email address and any other contact information that you provide.

My website is secure. You can see this as it has https: and a padlock in the browser address bar. This means the connection from your computer to my website is secure, and all information passed over the network is encrypted with SHA-2, 256-bit cryptography. The information you provide to me when filling out a form is transferred from your computer to my website server and then to my local email via SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). All information is protected by SSL.

Information that you provide is not stored on the website server, or in any database.

The contact information that you provide, i.e. your name, email address, and telephone number, is used to help me get back to you, via the email or telephone number that you provide, to answer your enquiry.

When we enter into an agreement, your details are kept for as long as that agreement is valid. I need these details to keep in contact with you with regards to your Website and your Managed Hosting Service. If you make an enquiry that does not lead to an agreement, I keep your details for 30 days, unless otherwise agreed by both parties, after which time any correspondence about your enquiry is deleted and any paperwork, such as quotations (which are valid for 30 days) are securely destroyed.

My website services are aimed at adults over the age of 16.

You can request to see any data that I hold at any time. Any request will be responded to within 30 days.

You have the right to ask for any personal data that I hold on you to be deleted. Unless there is a reason why that data is needed - for example, to allow me to fulfil a service that I am currently providing to you, or for legal reasons, your data will be erased on request.

All of my computer hard drives are encrypted, fire-walled and password protected. I adopt appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of any information that I may hold about the service I provide for you.

The hosting servers that I use are UK based, and GDPR compliant.

I regard your personal information as exactly that, personal, and I do not share, rent or sell your details to any third party.

I use some third party software and applications (see below) which are essential for the workings of this website and administration of my business.

Any external sites that I have linked to, from within my website, will have their own cookie and privacy policies. I am not responsible for their content or their functionality.

Payments & Invoicing

I do not store personal financial information. Payments that you make to me, including deposits and hosting, are processed securely online, via Paypal. Papal is a 3rd party processor and has its own Privacy Policy*. Final website payments are made via Bank Transfer, and as with all banks, they have their own policies and procedures which can be found on the relevant websites.

All records of invoices are kept for accounting and tax purposes for as long as legally required, after which they are securely destroyed.

A cookie is a small text file that is downloaded onto your computer, and it helps the website to remember you while you are actively on it, or when you return at a later date.

Nearly all websites need to use cookies to function. Not all cookies are the same. I have outlined the cookies that I use below:

Strictly Necessary Cookies (always on)

Necessary for specific website functions. They are usually set in response to an action made by the visitor, for example, logging into a password protected page, or filing in a form, or adding items to a shopping cart. You can set your browser to block these cookies but you may lose functionality and parts of the website may not show or work as expected.

Performance Cookies

Google Analytics collects non-personal identification information about visitors whenever they interact with this website such as browser name, operating system, and general region. None of this information reveals your personal identity to me. I use the Analytics to help me understand how visitors interact with my site. The analytics can show me how many visitors I have to my site each day, and which pages are visited the most frequently. This helps me to understand whether the information I am making available on the web is useful to my visitor.

Google Analytics also records your IP address. All IP addresses, gathered from this website are anonymised, to comply with the European GDPR. This means your full IP address is not recorded.

Google Analytics are useful for me, but are not essential to the running of the site and you have the option to disable the cookie from within this page (see cookie table below).

Google Analytics is a third-party Data Processor, and you can read about how they protect your information here*.

You can delete your cookies at any time, from within your browser settings.

You have full control over whether you allow any website, including this one to use cookies. You can control your cookie settings, and delete stored cookies at any time, from within your browser settings. If you do disable your cookies, there may be elements of this website that do not function as you would expect.

Find out more information on Cookies here https://aboutcookies.org/ and also here https://cookiesandyou.com.

Below is a list of the first party Cookies that this website uses.

In line with GDPR should a data breach occur at any time, resulting in a compromise of any personally identifiable data which may affect you, I will advise you within 72 hours.
